Sindhanur is a Taluk in Raichur District of Karnataka
State in India. It is a city buzzing with agricultural
and commercial activities. Maximum number of tractors
in the State is an indication of the density of
agri-related activity of the Taluk.
Raichur is a district center, well known for the
second biggest cotton market in South Asia. Koppala
is the district headquarters of newly constituted
Koppala District and Gangavati is its one of Taluk
Center. Gangavati is the "Rice-bowl"
of Karnataka State.
Vast lands of both Gangavati and Sindhanur Taluks
are well fed by Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal. Rice
is the major crop. Sunflower, Jower, Cotton,Groundnut
are also grown.
